Serving Our Outdoor Community Since 1964
In 1964, a group of skiing enthusiasts including Bob Wearn, Bill Shepard, Dick Reynolds and Peter Reinecke formed the Sitzmark Ski Club in Winston-Salem.
Now, fifty years later, we remain one of the oldest and most active clubs in the southeast.
To provide our members with fellowship surrounding skiing and other recreational activities and support our community with programs that promote our member’s recreational interests.
Skiing and Racing
W-SSOC has some great trips planned for 2022: Beaver Creek, Co. As a club member, you are also eligible for the Crescent Council trips as well.
Interested in Ski Racing? It’s a great way to spend time with the whole family or just come for some healthy competition against the other clubs throughout the South.
Biking and Hiking
Summertime offers plenty of opportunities to get out and explore by foot or on your bike. Every year the club hosts a Bike and Hike weekend in Damascus, Va. Hike a part of the Appalachian Trail or Bike the Creeper Trail. There are lots of things to do nearby as well like attending a play at the Barter Theater or shopping in Abingdon.
Social Time with Friends
Join us every third Thursday of the month for news and details of upcoming events and trips that are being planned. Hang out and have a glass of wine or grab a beer at our next event.
